Digital Collection, preservation, organization and dissemination of huge amount of knowledge are the need of the time. Thus the Institutional Digital Repository of in-house publications of NIH has been created applying software package “DSpace”. DSpace is an open source software package that provides the tools for management of digital assets, and is also commonly used as basis for an institutional repository. It supports a wide variety of data, including books, theses, digital scans of objects, photographs, films, videos, research data sets, and other forms of content.
National Institute of Hydrology has made excellent contribution in all aspects of hydrological research. In the last 45 years NIH has published more than 6000 Publications, including Research Reports, Project Reports, Research Papers in International and National Journals, International & National Conferences, Books and Chapters in Books, Annual Reports, Serial Publication like Pravahini, Jal Chetna and Institute’s Newsletter. Special publications include ’Hydrological Knowledge in Ancient India’, ’Glimpse of research and Development at NIH’, ’Glossary of Hydrological Terms’, ’Pioneering Hydrological Research in India : Coffee Table Book’, Jalvigyan Shabdavali, NIH Information Brochure, Jal Sansadhan ke Shetra me Bhavi Chunautiyan, TOT Manual on ’Water Conservation Awareness’, ’Role of Hydrology in district level Planning’, ’Brochure of Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) in India’, ’Water for Public Health Preparing for Disaster & Pandemics’ & Climate Change & its impact on water resources with focus on India etc. are some notable collections of NIH.
