This edition is perhaps most recognizable as having undergone a complete change in style and format, including changes to Part Titles. Further, a reorganization of sections in Part 3000, 4000, and 9000 was undertaken to make locating specific methods more intuitive. A total of 82 method updates were added throughout the book, with Part 9000 undergoing the most substantive changes. The twenty-Fourth Edition represents the first edition to have a more deliberate and direct association with Standard Methods Online. As has been the case since the Twenty-First Edition, new and newly updated methods continue to first become available on Standard Methods Online.
